Celebrating Winter and the Holiday Season at the High Line House™

Posted: December, 18, 2023 | Categories: Homes

As temperatures continue to drop and winter weather settles in across the Front Range, finding ways to spend time with others may start to feel a little more complicated. If it’s too chilly to meet your Solstice™ human and canine neighbors at Chatfield’s dog park — or if the wind is blowing just a little too hard to venture out on the High Line Canal — don’t fear! You’ll find refuge from the cold at the High Line House™, our neighborhood center and a glowing beacon in the storm. Read on to learn more about one of our favorite parts of the community.

A Welcome Sight

Whether Shea Homes® is building a single-family detached home with a killer kitchen or designing a community center, our people-friendly modern design ethos is always obvious. As you approach the High Line House™, one of the first things you’ll encounter is a unique feature that casts the veranda in warm light. It’s a sculpture built to mirror the sweeping sky we’re known for in Colorado that extends our many days of sun well into the night — especially delightful on shorter winter days. Worried you won’t get to enjoy the outdoor space during the cold months? That’s not a problem when you have access to the High Line House’s™ outdoor fire pits.

Warmth and Light

The extensive gesture created by the High Line House’s™ glimmering outdoor lighting feature continues to guide design inside the main room. The two-story atrium with exposed wooden beams and a sleek central fireplace is full of brightness and reminiscent of a ski lodge or a mountain chalet. It’s a dreamy space to meet with a few friends to play a hand of cards or gather a larger group of neighbors and spend the night getting to know each other. The High Line House™ is open for spontaneous hangs as well as being available to reserve in advance, making it the ideal venue for every event you could imagine throwing.

Relax at the Bar and Lounge

The bar and lounge is situated just off the main room to allow for natural movement between the two spaces as you move and mingle, making new connections and lasting memories to keep you warm all through the winter. If you’re looking for something a little more intimate, you’ll find plenty of private nooks to retreat into for a quiet date night with your partner or a new friend. The Bar and Lounge might just be the perfect place to steal away from visiting in-laws for a few hours so you can come back refreshed and ready to celebrate the holidays with extra cheer.

Don’t Forget to Move Your Body

As we’re spending more time indoors during the winter months, it becomes even more important to find ways to move our bodies. If you’re not interested in braving the elements for a slog through the snow, the High Line House™ has you covered with our state-of-the-art gym available for all members of our community. Inside this well-lit workout space you’ll find any machine you might need to scratch that aerobics itch. If you’re not looking to hop on an elliptical or dip into a squat, there’s plenty of space to set up some yoga mats and host an impromptu class with a few limber friends.
