The "Manly Mile" is just one of the races offered at the Father's Day Classic in Arvada, but don't worry — anyone can run! Strollers are welcome, as are your furry four-legged children. Held on the Ralston Creek bike path, the event includes post-race swag, a Sneakers4Funds station for responsible shoe donation, raffles and contests, and an afterparty at Elevated Seltzer in Olde Town. A perfect way to start your Father's Day celebrations with a healthy heart!
Fly Fishing
Dads who need a little quiet alone time will appreciate the chance to get out into the cool waters to do some top-notch casting. Plan ahead to make sure Dad has the proper license and equipment — Estes Park boasts a number of excellent spots and local companies that can help with gear. Don't forget the snacks for energy and be ready to cook a delicious meal if he comes home with a bucket of juicy brook trout!

If your Dad bleeds Rockies purple, the Rockies vs. Padres game on June 19 gives you an excuse to turn a Father's Day gift into a fun outing for you both. Whether your Dad likes peeking under the hood or hopping a train for destinations unknown, he'll love checking out the inner workings of antique tractors, diesel motorcars, hit-and-miss engines, Model A and Model T automobiles, and even a fire truck. The Colorado Rail Museum in Golden will host a fun day for the whole crew from 10 am to 3 pm with food, family-friendly activities, behind-the-scenes tours, and even train rides every half hour. Advance ticket purchase ($2) is recommended. Solstice™ is about 20 miles from Golden tucked along the Hogback, so be sure to plan for travel time.

Head to Empower Field at Mile High for the Denver BBQ Festival, a two-day smorgasbord of pure smoked bliss. Start with a calorie-burning Run for the Ribs before grabbing an ice-cold brew and sweet, savory, or spicy bites made by award-winning pitmasters from across the country. Protip: Pack extra wet wipes for those sticky fingers!
